These terms are an agreement between you and Rathnas LLC, a California limited liability company (“Rathnas”, “we”, “us”), which operates Galascribe at galascribe.com and app.galascribe.com. By signing in to or using Galascribe, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Galascribe for an organization, you agree for that organization and confirm you’re allowed to.
1. What Galascribe is
Galascribe helps you write, design and publish a website from your own GitHub account. Your site’s content and code live in a GitHub repository you control, and GitHub Pages serves your site. Galascribe works on that repository at your direction.
2. Your account
You sign in with GitHub, so you need a GitHub account and must follow GitHub’s own terms.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. Galascribe isn’t for anyone under 18.
You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your GitHub account, passkeys and recovery codes safe, and tell us at support@galascribe.com if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Your content
You own what you write and publish. You give Rathnas permission to store, copy, process, display and send your content only as needed to run Galascribe for you, for example to show a preview, keep a draft or publish a change to your repository. This permission ends when your content is removed from Galascribe, except for copies kept for a limited time in backups or where the law requires us to keep them. You’re responsible for your content and for having the rights to publish it.
4. Your GitHub repositories
When you connect a repository, you allow the Galascribe GitHub App to read and change it, and to manage the GitHub Pages site and the workflows that build it. Galascribe changes your repository only to do what you or your organization’s members ask, such as setting up, updating or publishing a site. You can remove Galascribe’s access at any time in your GitHub settings. If you stop using Galascribe, your repository and published site stay on GitHub.
5. Comments and likes
If a site turns on comments and likes, readers can sign in and take part. By commenting you agree to these terms and are responsible for what you write. Site owners can moderate comments on their sites, and we may remove comments or likes that break these terms.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t use Galascribe to:
break the law or infringe anyone’s rights, including copyright, trademark and privacy;
publish content that sexually exploits children, promotes terrorism or violence, or harasses, threatens or demeans people;
publish malware, phishing or deceptive content, or send spam;
impersonate a person or organization, or claim a site or YouTube channel that isn’t yours;
probe, overload or break Galascribe, or get around its limits or security;
reach other people’s accounts, sites or data without their permission.
We may remove content, pause publishing or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where we reasonably can, we’ll tell you why first.
7. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on a Galascribe site infringes your copyright, write to support@galascribe.com with the page’s address, the work you own and your contact details. Because GitHub Pages hosts these sites, you can also report it to GitHub under its DMCA policy. We remove infringing content we’re responsible for and may suspend accounts that repeatedly infringe.
8. Price
Galascribe offers free and paid plans. Sample articles are free. The paid plans, their prices and how they renew are in section 9.
9. Paid plans
Some Galascribe services are paid plans, billed monthly or yearly. A paid plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year, for the same period, until you cancel. The price you see when you subscribe is the price for that plan.
To cancel, email support@galascribe.com from the address on your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
If you cancel, your content stays yours. We hand over the files for every article, and you keep the right to use them.
If you are not happy, email us within 14 days of your first payment on a plan, monthly or yearly, and we refund it in full. After that, payments are not refunded; cancelling stops the next renewal.
10. Other services
Galascribe depends on services we don’t control, including GitHub, Cloudflare and Google. Their own terms govern your use of them, and we aren’t responsible for their availability or actions. If you claim a site with your YouTube channel, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
11. Changes to Galascribe
Galascribe is changing quickly. We may add, change or remove features, and we’ll give reasonable notice of changes that significantly affect you when we can.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using Galascribe at any time and close your account from the Account page. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the law requires it, or stop offering Galascribe with reasonable notice. Your repositories and published sites stay on GitHub. Sections that by their nature should continue (your ownership of your content, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity and governing law) continue after your account ends.
13. Disclaimers
Galascribe is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, Rathnas gives no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that Galascribe will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that your content can’t be lost; your GitHub repository is your own copy.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Rathnas isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about Galascribe is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100.
15. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Rathnas against claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your content or your breach of these terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts in California have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about these terms or Galascribe, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in Galascribe or by email (if you’ve agreed to account notices) before they take effect. If you keep using Galascribe after that, you accept the updated terms.
5. Comments and likes
If a site turns on comments and likes, readers can sign in and take part. By commenting you agree to these terms and are responsible for what you write. Site owners can moderate comments on their sites, and we may remove comments or likes that break these terms.
